Every week, on Tuesday morning, I do a tour of the vineyard at Chateau Argadens. I visit each plot, looking at what condition the leaves and the bunches are in, hunting out insect larvae, checking on the vineyard team’s recent work (sucker removal, tying up..), how the vines have come on (what stage of phenolic ripeness they have reached, in particular) and, last but not least, having a good look at the state of the soil.
